I've asked this question in the past. You'll get lots of replies, some say yes others say no. Try it without a tune, allot of folks find they get better performance without a tune or remap. This is not always the case but I don't think you have to worry about destroying your engine if you find your bike running rich or lean either way. You'll know if you need a tune or not.

I rode for awhile with slips and stock AC and didn't have to add fuel to the map. I say don't worry about it till it runs bad or the plug colors start to worry you.

07 -08 ,add a tuner, first years of the 96 run leaner than 09^,u can try it but... b aware of ping,my 07 ran so hot stock after 1 year the crossover pipe bracket crumbled in my hand when i was pulling the stock head pipe, fuel tuner not only made it run cooler,it stopped the ping(wich gets worse with pipes or ac),stopped surging, didn't even know what that was till it stopped, and stumbling stopped.

Depends on the bike. My bike decel pops a lot with straight thru slip-ons. It really likes a little back pressure. So I'm running V&H Monster Rounds with the baffle intact. And my stock headpipe with the CAT still in it. But no tuner. Its loud enough for me.
