good idea, but with one MAJOR flaw, the 21" tire you would most likely be finding in stock at a Dealer is a 90 (softail) or even an 80(wide glide) You ain't putting those tires on a touring bike... generally the 21 on a bagger is a 120....with a 130 being the stock size wether you have a 16,17,18, or even a 19 wheel from MOCO..

coastal moto, wanaryde, eastern performance cycles all have great customer service and you can definitely get a set for less than $2500 for a 21/18 combo mounted, balanced and shipped and all three of those companies sell on ebay. $3500 is WAY too much for a set of wheels imho. Contrary to what folks say, a 21 wheel rides no different than a 18 front wheel. The only issue sometimes is the 200mm 18 rear but I believe those issues have been resolved. Also, check out Ride Wright wheels too. you can get a set from them for less that $2k shipped and when you shop around for tires (ebay) you can buy a set and get them mounted and balanced by a local indy for around $2600-2700 total. Thats only about $200 more for a custom set. Only difference is no rotors are included. Way better than going with the agitators that you see on just about every harley at every motorcycle gathering lately. And those wheels are extremely overpriced as well. Good luck

I contemplated putting the matching wheel on the rear...until I got a helluva deal on a wheel/tire package from Eastern Performance. RC Components Prowler 21" front, 17" rear, Metzeler Tires and matching rotors......drumroll.....$1899. If you don't have the matching rear you WILL notice it.

Eastern Performance and RC components were my choice also very good deal and customer service outstanding but if you get the rotors to match your wheel go with the floaters, they work best with the brembo brakes

How can you say the HD wheels are overpriced. $549 MSRP, take off 20% through Lake Shore HD, Hales, etc and your at $454. Two HD wheels are cheaper then one aftermarket custom wheel. Granted, you don't have many choices but if you like one of their wheels your save a lot of cash. Your right on the Agitators, everybody has them, that's why I went with the CS Anarchy wheels. Two wheels, two tires, two rotors & 2 install kits=$1665 shipped.....

People always claim that you notice the rear not being done. I dont ever give it a thought until someone else points it out. I never had anyone in person make any comment about not doing the rear. Only online people say anything. As far as I am concerned if it doesn't bother the owner then who cares. Call me ghetto I dont give a ****. You can buy me the rear if it bothers you that much. I may do it one day but I also am thinking stretched bags before rear wheel. Then I will decide if I want to drop another grand on a small visual piece of a wheel

Perhaps you should just start with a 21" and see how you like it. If you feel the stock rear wheel is bothering you then either get the matching rear wheel or do a chrome exchange on it.

Probably a stupid question, but do I have to replace the tire as well? My tires only have 3,000 miles on them.

I went with Coastal Moto Phantoms. I've had them on the bike for 25,000 miles now. Good service, price, and quality. They also stand behind their product. I had a rotor warp and they replaced it no questions asked. I'm sure others do as well but I only have experience with them. I went with 21 on the front and 17 on the back with a 200 rear tire.
