Welcome to the forum Mike, take it with a grain of salt. There are plenty of smart @sses here. Most are pretty funny and break up the norm.

Just brought the new flhx home last saturday. Course the weather is to cold and rainy to ride. I did manage to get about 65 miles in on sunday. Enough to know I will be needing another windshield. Been looking on ebay at Fast Aire, Sin City Cycles, and one from Baggers Only. The fast aire and the sin city look the same to me. Both kinda squared off on the sides. The baggers only is more a half moon shape, which I think I like the looks of better. But the fast aire style is ok too. I just need one that works. I'm 5'11 and am looking at the 8" shield, dark. I think I will be able to look over the top still. Does the half moon shape work as well as the fast aire design? Please help me out with your experience on what works. Thanks.

I can sell you the 15" Harley 'shield I bought. I decided not to use it. $75 shipped. It's about 2 weeks old. I'm much shorter than you are.

I am a Fastaire fan - hard to beat the price & great customer service. Buy the Fastaire and if you don't like it you are not out a bunch of change so you can always get something else.

6 ft and went with 8" - works fine, lasts a long time, around $40

Yeah, but can you *ride* it? Lots of guys spend boocko bucks making their rides go really, really fast... and they ride them really, really fast.

In a straight line.

I laugh every time I see Mr. Badass Biker barreling down the road at 30-over, then drop it to 20mph to take a turn. 2, maybe 3 turns in, and they're not catching me. Even stunta-boyz on Gixxers suffer from this affliction. It's a disease and needs to be treated with dignity and compassion... nah, screw that... they need their doors blown off by an old guy on a bagger. LOL

Mike,

I'm 5' 10", I have the 8" clearview recurve. I get some buffeting on the top of my head, so I would think the 8" recurve would be perfect for you.
