Default Battery Upgrade

So I've been searching and reading all these stereo threads and I've yet to see anyone talk about the battery. I've always upgraded my car batteries when installing stereo systems. Is no one doing this on bikes? I'm seeing multiple amp systems but nothing about the charging system. I'm debating on upgrading to a Shorai Lithium battery or possibly a deep cycle type. Any thoughts, experience or suggestions? Or am I just ?

Cop Glides come with high amp alternators. I don't think the battery is any different though. Unlike a car, there is no room for a bigger battery on a scooter.

Not that I'm into tunes on a bike though. My radio quit on my bike. I doubt if I'll ever get around to fixing it.

I have a Shorai. Darned expensive, higher cca than stock (mine is 405Amps), smaller and lighter than stock battery. It's black, looks like a normal battery, but is almost as light as a feather!

Best to get more of a deep cycle type battery as already mentioned. They can handle the abuse better then regulat batteries. A charging system that can handle the draw is also a must, or batteries will keep failing.
I have yet to put a stereo system on a bike, but when I was putting them in my cars, I use to install a capacitor for the amps. Helped mellow out the voltage spikes when the music was cranking.

Unless you plan to sit and run your radio off the battery for hours on end, there is no need to upgrade the battery, the charging system on the late models is more than capable of handling the average amped up audio system.

battery doesn't matter ,as long as your charging system is making more than your using.

I've always ran the Optima deep cycle in my cars, with a 1-farad capacitor. I've got a Dead Center fairing on my RK and I've got no intention on adding a Sub so I dont see a real need for one on the bike. I bought the bike used so I've got no idea on how old the battery is or how well it was maintained. Never had any starting problems and when I hook it to my tender it goes green usually within a 1/2 hour or less.

I'm installing a Sony DSX-S210BTX and an Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack bridged into either a set of Alpine 6 1/2's or Polks, haven't decided yet.
