Trade Ultra Limited for a Softail Heritage?
#23
I never have had a problem riding an Ultra around town but I guess for some its a problem. My wife traded in her Wideglide for a new Heritage this summer. She test rode a Road King and a Streetglide. She said she felt more comfortable on the Heritage. I tried to talk her into one of the touring models but she refused. It's all in what you are comfortable with.

I rode a Valkyrie Tourer for 10 years which had a shield and hard bags. I always loved the look of the Wide Glide so that's what I traded for. That bike lasted me 7,000 miles and all it took was a 2,000 mile road trip and I was ready to trade. This time I decided to go with a new Ultra Classic thinking I could always strip it down if needed.I left it alone for 2 years and then pulled the tour pack off. I felt like I found my long lost friend, it felt so much better and no longer felt top heavy.Since I ride solo 100 percent of the time I also removed the passenger floorboards. My next change was to get rid of the stock seat and add a C&C solo seat with backrest. I liked the bike in stock form but now I'm really enjoying the bike. Looking back I probably should have traded my Valkyrie for a Road King. I think the Road King would have been an easy transition where as the WideGlide and Ultra were a really big change.
