The quantities should be in your owners manual.

Buy 4 Quarts but only put in 3.25 to 3.5 qts. Then run it up to full operating temperature and check dip stick and top off. You will likely find hot, with 3.5 qts installed it will register full. Don't over fill.

7 quart's total. You will need 4 quart's of engine oil with filter change. Put in 3 1/2 quart's and check it after warming the engine to operating temp.

The primary takes 38 oz. With the bike sitting level, fill to bottom of clutch basket. Usually takes 38 oz. If you are doing this yourself, Make sure you have the proper Torx socket. It's a #27 Torx.

The Transmission takes 1 quart. Don't use engine oil in the Tranny. Get a good Gear oil like Redline V-twin tranny oil or Amsoil Severe gear.

If you don't have a service manual PM me, I might be able to help.

I was told the same thing at my HD dealer about the tranny, they say now they are reccomending gear oil instead of engine oil in the trannys.

+1, if you go beyond 3.5 it's going to overfill.....I'm not going to get into flushing the sump like usual or I'm going to end up hijacking the thread and that's not what the OP asked.
