I personally dont have that problem, but I have read a few post that say the deflectors that mount to the engine guard help a lot.

I use a Madstad windshield and Sancho wings. A lot of folks don't like the look. It works for me. I still get the breeze and rain in the face but I don't get the buffeting at high speeds anymore.

Here's a pic of the madstad. The Sancho wings are on there too. Just hard to see. Look to the right of the fairing.

Please post info regarding the taller windshield that is worse. Many would like to know, since $$$ is spent trying to tame the wind.

Very common issue with glides. As you said, the wind is not coming from over the windshield, but underneath the fairing.

Many positive results from fork mounted wind deflectors sold by Harley. Also some reports that adding lowers can also reduce the buffeting.

If he holds his arm, horizontal above the tank, and the buffeting stopps, then that is where you need the additional wind protection.

Depending on the height of the rider, the buffeting can make it so bad you cannot see clearly.

I tried the HD wind deflectors and it didn't do a thing for me, although I do have the lowers on so perhaps that's why.

my 2012 RGU came with plastic deflectors that mount under the fairing in front of the tank. Have not used them yet but figured I would in colder weather.
