I got a fairing mount off of ebay a few weeks ago. Sits right in the middle above the tach and speedo (attaches to the center windshield screw). I did replace the double back tape on the bottom with some industrial stuff. Just got back from a 1000 mile ride and it worked great, no vibration at all (2012 Limited). This is it.

Nice thing about using the RAM mount that connects to the left side mirror/control area is you don't have to drill or cut anything. If you don't like it you just put the stock bolts back in and start over. I have my Zumo 220 mounted that way and it's been just fine, I never find myself wishing I had it mounted on the dash. Get the security bolt for the ram arm from Touratech and you don't have to worry about your mount walking away either.
Cheers!
Pete

You might like to check out the eCaddy Deluxe. It works with the cradle that comes in the Zumo kit. It's not plastic, it's chrome (or you can get black), made in the USA: http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/CTGY/othergps.html

I have the fairing mount and mounts the Zumo in a good position. Consider the fairing mount if you can find one at a dealer. Maybe ebay will have one.
