Default Speaker amp and Accessory switch

Is it possible to hook up a Boom amp to the Accessory switch on an Ultra rather than going to the battery? I don't have anything hooked up to that switch. It is hot with the iginition in either Run or Acces mode. Seems like it would be a lot simpler but............ Thanks.

You will have to see how many Amps the amplifier pulls and what the fuse on the switch is rated for. If the switch has a higher rating u r good to go. I don't think that will be the case tho. The battery is the best spot for it.

The acc. connector is rated for 15 amps total. It is also fused. It works as long as the ignition switch is on run or on acc.

No don't do it, prolonged use will probably burn out the switch among other things unless you use a relay. The relay is more trouble than connecting the amp directly.

Yea not a good idea. The constant running of the amp I believe will burn out the switch and or wires. The amp when running will keep spiking the amperage every bass hit at loud volume. When running lights off the switch it would be a constant amperage load unlike a stereo amp.

that switch controls a relay ,it is intended to be plugged into under the seat,so just run to the battery.and the switch will not handle the amps even if u connect to the relay.
