Yes do that. Grap the mirror kit and give your dealer an opportunity to help you. However from what has been posted and the manner in which it's been posted tells me that you yourself have the higher level of responsibility here. You bought an accessory kit that countless others have installed without problems. You evidently were having an off day and, messed up, right from the start. Be a man and say so. Tell yourself that it was you and you alone who made the mistakes and now you need to fix your errors. We've all done it and will make more mistakes in the future. It's part of being human.

I just installed those mirrors too, and my installation instructions are in inch-lb.
Buying a torque wrench is a real good investment. They save me from damaging/stripping parts. My latest 2 torque wrenches are both by CDI

All the torque specs are in the shop manual.
