originally I planed on using my stock shield but changing over to the MS shield when it got colder but have never put the stock shield back on. I like the fact that it is quick disconnect and I also have the "wings" on it which greatly reduces the wind on my hands. As far as wind deflection it slides just over my bald head and there is only "clean" air in front of me. CONS: With the shield adjusted all the way back to the best wind protection , the gap over the headlight is more pronounced.
