Really on the fence for buying Extended Warranty
#51
you can tell it's a rip off by the way the salesman try to push you into getting one. i've found a firm no will stop the badgering. they get a commission. i'm sure they feel guilty after they con someone into buying one. bought my 07 new. no problems with it and at the time there were all kinds of horror stories about the 07 and the new 6 speed tranny. outside of an ids issue which would not have been covered on an 07 it has been trouble free for 50,000 miles.

If you plan on keeping it bone stock it might be worth it. However if you intend to do any amount of mod's watch out the dealer will look for any reason to void warranty or ESP. 2.5 months into my ESP my radio started acting up dealer said they were awaiting for approval from ESP due to the fact I added an amp to my system. I told them to forget about it and proceeded to cancel my contract. Expecting about 90% refund. Screw them. BTW bike has many mod's didn't want to find out what else they would not cover when it fails.

It's something I never buy extra warranty. And the first time I do it bites you in the ***. Keep your money maintain your ride and hope for the best

I stressed over the extended warranty on my original purchase but decided to hold off and pay the $150 penalty later on if I decided to extend. Part of my thinking was the possibility that I might want a full dresser or a SG/RG later on. I didn't want to sink extra money into a warranty that I may get no benefit from.

I would not give HD 5 cents more...I have had multiple serious warranty issues with my bike and I had to "convince" them to fix it, which is outrageous for warranty issues. Then they wanted to sell me an extended warranty?????? From actually another company, not HD...Not now, not ever. I have NEVER bought an extended warranty ever! They are a scam. PUT THE MONEY IN YOUR OWN BANK AND SAVE IT FOR REPAIRS. and find a GOOD idept. mechanic!
