I have to agree with most that 350 - 500 mile days are not unusual. When planning an multiple day trip, I usually plan 400 around mile days, give or take depending on hotel location.

Stop every few hours to hydrate and stretch and you'll feel good at the end of the day.

Depends on the road, the rider/s, scenery, weather, etc, etc. Having said the obvious, the most I have done in a day was 1170 and that was a get me there day with mostly interstate riding. On a trip I tend to go long on the first two days, I have to get across Texas...LOL. Then I slow it down and 200-300 for easy sight seeing days after that. Coming home after two weeks the last couple days will be 550 +/- a few.

My wife and I leave in two weeks for a northwest trip of 6500 miles taking 17 days to do it. First day is 750, second is 500. After that 200 to 400 a day except for the last two days of 550 each. That is because we want to spend as much time out there as we can and leave at the very last minute to come home.

wife and i did nashville to pa a few years back 1 day. mostly do 5 or 6 hundred when traveling and when just out for a day 300 to 350 is a nice day. mostly alone two up as well. It's nice to do whatever you feel comfortable with. we are all different in the zone. Takes me a few hours to get in the zone but once there it is just a smile.

500 is good for me. I have done more and less but a lot of it depends on how hot it is. When I plan a trip I plan for 450 and only make reservations at the destination so I'm not locked into a specific distance. Leave early and in the afternoon take lots of breaks in the AC. Don't make the ole lady wait for rest stops, you want her enjoying it too. I used to stress over making distance but when you get tired and aren't on top of your game you are asking for trouble. One fixed gaze off at a great view while someone in front of you slams on their brakes and your done. It only takes a couple of seconds.

My longest so far is 960 or so. I think it depends on the purpose. If I am riding somewhere to do something like going to Arizona to ride with my Dad and Baby Brudda I call that a destination ride, I am not doing the ride for any other reasion than getting point A to B as fast and safe as possible. This is my 950 mile plus ride straight through. When I ride for pleasure such as a ride up the coast through the redwoods or something I might do 250-300 tops. This is a pleasure ride for me. I keep thinking on doing a Iron Butt on my next ride to Phoenix and by changing my route slightly it would be easy but not sure I want to take the extra time to properly document the ride.

Just yesterday, went from Keystone, SD, (south of Sturgis) where our cabin was to Macon, IL, to get here for a visitation and funeral for my grandfather earlier tonight and tomorrow, respectively. 1050.2 miles in 17 hours. Wasn't exactly "fun" but it wasn't horrible either. Stopped roughly every 120 miles (one of the guys in our trip has a 95 Ultra that can only get about 140 miles to a tank) and spent our time while stopped stretching and whatnot. I did 808 miles a few weeks ago from Las Vegas, NV, to Bryers, CO, in about 15 hours. It's all about if you're riding to get somewhere or riding to enjoy the ride. This Friday, I'll be riding the 1800 miles from IL to Vegas and I'll tell ya... not looking forward to riding through Kansas and Eastern Colorado, so I'll be cooking through there as fast as I can. Once I hit Denver and get into the mountains, I'll slow down quite a bit. Gorgeous up there.
