Default Lost my seat screw, need help!

I noticed that my seat thumbscrew was missing the other day when I got home. I ordered a new screw off of eBay and when I went to install it I then noticed that the "female" end of it (the part that the screw goes into on the fender) is also gone. Does the Harley "detachable seat kit" include everything that I need or is it just the thumbscrew? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I bought the harley thumb seat screw and it was the screw and rubber washer.....I think you are going to have to order the nut and retaining clip seperately.

if you need a temp solution.....a 12" bungy cord connected from one shock bracket to the other will hold the seat in place.

You have your answer there. Put some locktite blue on that screw, and you won't have this problem again.

That's the one. Also get yourself about an 8" or longer tie-wrap or zip-tie. This will help a lot with getting that thing up there and holding it in place while you get the retaining clip on there.

Just go to HD and get your parts there about $15.00 for everything.

I lost my seat screw on a ride and it was kinda un nerving taking off at uphill stops. The seat slid back a couple inches, all I could think about was how my rear fender was being gouged. Once out of traffic though, not a mark. Lock tite now and no issues since.

I remember the day when hay-wire was a good enough fix. Things have sure changed.

Put a thumb screw on mine...there's a blue million of them on ebay pretty cheap and mine came with the rubber "O" ring. Never had any issues with it working loose.
