Has anyone trimmed their seats themselves?

Looks like it may not be too tough, but what do I know.

Did my Ultra seat. Even purchased a fabric stapler. Helped a bit. Nothing to it, just be sure topull thefabricsemi-tight and staple.

Really think the foam in the stock seat is the problem. Looking towards a Corbin seat.

Try this guy at meancitycycles.com , He charges $40 bucks to mod your seat and he is a pro. For a little more $ he can put in memory foam. Whole lot cheaper than a new seat

Did mine myself and made a mess. I didn't have the corect type of stapler and didn't get the foam very smooth. I ended up sending it to Allen at Mean City Cycles to get it cleaned up. He will modify a Streetglide seat for $40 plus shipping. Not sure about the cost for other seats. He is listed in the Vendor section of this forum.

Well, maybe Mean City is the way to go. Pretty reasonable price. Thanks everyone.

I just got the seat from my 07 RKC seatback from Allen at Mean City and it looks like a first class job. Haven't had a chance to try it out due to weather but it sure looks like a professional job. He even took the trouble to call me and tell me he couldn't trim the nose as much as I wanted so that I wouldn't be surprised. About one week turn-around. If it feels anywhere nearas good as it looks I will be thrilled. Very satisfied with the quality of the redo-highly recommended.
