Im looking to buy my Dad a 2005 Roadking Custom( Vivid Black) and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how much I should pay for the bike. I have never purchased a HD and was wondering what some of you might have paid and how much I should prepare to spend on this paricular model. Any info is appreciated.

 

Most of the dealers are only going to give you MSRP, (17,195) plus any options you decide you want, (FI, Security System, Laced Wheels, whatever) plus $270 in Freight. If you're in Cali, you'll have to pay the Cali emissions - $265/$100 depending on whether or not you get FI.

I was able to get the dealer to give me everything at MSRP and give me $500 in store credit towards chrome, pipes, t-shirts...whatever.

That's about the best deal you can hope for. Also check to see if there's been any chrome added by the dealership. They'll pad the price a little (a lot) so go over what's been added. Also keep this in mind. They put it on and get charged the wholesale price and want to charge you the regular retail price. You have some bargaining room there.

Just be thankful you don't have to buy one across the pond in the UK. Will cost you £14295 GBP. about $26000. but hell I aint complaining mines great!!!
