I've noticed my upper heat sheilds are pitting high up near the engine. Worst on the left shield, but spreading to lower shield. Dealer says I must have done it....not sure how. Nothing takes it off, and it is only seen on the heat shields?????? Anybody else seen this?

 

Nothing on my heatshields yet but my shiny chrome muffler is turning a not so nice honey yellow in two big spots......2010 StreetGlide. I called the Dealer to see if warranty would replace and they told me I would have to have my bike "inspected" for a two hour service charge and then pay a $50 deductible IF it was covered under warranty. Fug that!!!

 

Had it on my 2010. No problem. Dealer replaced front to back. No complaints. No charge.

 

You had your entire exhaust system replaced under warranty due to chrome turning? WOW! How many miles on the clock and when? My dealer acted like I was bothering him over something "they all do".

 

not exhaust...just heat sheilds. had 12000 miles on it. My dealer is GREAT! Takes really good care of me
