I am partly deaf so I can't hear any noise. But on right and left hand sweepers, I am getting a vibration in the bars that feels like something grinding. Goes away when I straighten up. Do you feel that also? New tires on the way. Also going to have the bearings checked.

Thumbs up

im having the same issue...left sweepers, more so than right, little/slight vibration. belt looks good & spun the tire with bike on jack to listen for any bearing noise but it seems all is well with mine (11 SG) except for the rear tire staring to cup on the edges. got 11,800 on the bike now & i started noticing this at about 8,000-9,000 miles.

like the others above said probably going to be the tire. just run it down OR if you have tire & wheel warranty run over a screw & have it relaced for the $50 deductible...........

My 12 SG is also making a similar noise that sounds like rotor / caliper noise but doesn't change when applying the brake. I haven't had the bags off yet to check but I am betting on a pully, belt or tire rubbing. Mine started at 1000 mi. Tire is fine. Surely not a bearing?

I have a similar issue. My whine only happens between 62 and 67 MPH, when it is hot. If it is a cold/cool day, it doesn't do it. Started when I got a new rear tire and happened to take it up above 62 on a lonely stretch of road on the way home. Took it back to the shop and they claim they don't hear it and everything is hunky dory (checked bearings and brakes too). Took it to my regular shop (long story), they don't hear it either. I would think I'm nuts, except hubby can hear it when riding beside me, and when he rides it.

After 3k miles on the tire, I've decided just to try to ignore it. Fortunately, most of my riding is surface roads, so below 60 MPH. If I'm on highway, I try to stay above 70. Not the perfect solution, but the only one that is working for me so far.

Tire! had the same noise which started around 12k. Those 407s just don't wear even. Been through 6 of then since 2009. Got about 15-17 out of each. My buddy went to 21k but his hearing isn't that good...LOL!

' 10 RK Same here with the rear tire only on left turns and especially when hot. Put bike on lift and checked everything and determined its the tire

I went round and round with HD and Dunlop on this issue. Didn't win but Dunlop did send me a set of tires for free. HD said you have 15k on a rear what are you complaining about. If it didn't cup it would be a 22-25k tire for sure .his was on my 2009 RKC. Now on my 2011 RKC went through the same thing 15k cupping on the rear and noisy. I just changed it out. To bad the AE's aren't made with a wide whitewall yet.

try keeping a couple extra pounds in the tires, low pressure will cause cupping, mine got so bad i could feel it rolling it around in the garage.look at the tread u should be able to sees it.at each side of the groove one side will be slightly taller than the other.

I was **** about the air pressures and it didn't help...period! Its just the way the tires wear...
