Default yellow pipes

I have a 08 ultra with 38000 miles.Just noticed the right pipe is yellow about four inches from the end of exhaust. Stock pipes and no motor work done anybody sure what could have caused this.

That's because your bike is set up with STOICH AFR. Thanks to the EPA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air%E2%80%93fuel_ratio

if.. u can get it clean u may b able to prevent it from happening again by tuning it.in general yellow is caused by too lean (blue too rich).and yes thanks to the epa these bikes run too lean from the factory.

I have seen pipes turn but not the chrome. Plus it is only yellow for about six inches in the middle of the chrome. somebody just came by the house and thinks something is wrong with the baffle in that pipe.

My tune is on, and the right side pipe is turning yellow, but it has 50k on the pipes, this isn't a bike with less than 10k on it, you will not be able to heat cycle a pipe that many times, and it not turn yellow.

Get the bike tuned, then get some Blue Job, I had a V Star and they don't have heat shields on the front header pipe, it turned yellow and blue, the blue job is a powder that with a little water turns to a paste and you simply rub it on the blue and yello pipe, it works great, nothing else I tried works as good as Blue Job.

My straw color has not worked back all that far yet. Really pretty well hidden by the covers anyway.

I had a problem with bluing chrome a while back and used this stuff called "Blue Job" that got all the blue out of the chrome. It takes some serious work, but you can get the color back to fine chrome. Check that stuff out. Worked for me. http://www.blue-job.com/ Don't know how it would do with yellowing, but might be worth a try.
