Default stator help!!

I have a 06 Electra Glide. Replaced the stator and regulator back in May. Coming home from work tonight , check engine and battery light came on on giving me the same code. Is there a warranty on the HD parts i bought in May and is there a better option than going back with another HD stator???

Do they last longer than the Harley parts?

I just changed mine 2 weeks ago. I went with Cycle Electric. Made in the USA with a 2 year warranty. The Cycle Electric regulator actually regulates the voltage better than HD units. Instead of sending unneeded voltage to ground like the OEM HD stuff does, Cycle Electric will give the stator a break and lower the output resulting in cooler running stator and lower temps. Stator for my 2008 Ultra was 139 and the regulator was 159. Purchased locally at Freedom Cycles. You can read all about their stuff online.

I went to the HD shop yesterday to get a regulator...my stator checks out good. Apparently all parts sold after January 1 2012 carries a 2 year warranty but it is up to the service manager to approve the warranty. So the service manager was off on Mondays and they were out of stock on the regulator. I will find out today if they are going to replace it for me.
