Fuel Moto 2 into 1 exhaust system

I've been running the original 2/1 for a couple years and over 30K miles without an issue. Wonder if those new pipes have heatshields as mine have turned a golden color (normal for stainless) under the stock heat shields. Looks like a nice pipe, my only concern would be the noise level on the new one.

I now have a 150 miles on the new exhaust. Was running a stock engine and the stock head pipes with the Jackpot Mufflers, Power Commander V and the Fuel Moto Stage One air cleaner setup. Installation went well and everything fits perfectly. The muffler was a very tight fit to the pipe. I flashed the PCV with the map they sent me. Fired her up and what a sweet sound. The power is great, it just pulls! It does look as though the heat shield for my rear cylinder is getting a golden tint. I will have to figure out a way to get a good picture and check with Fuel Moto to see if this is to be expected. Now the sound level.... When driving in a sane matter it has great rumble sound a bit louder than the Jackpot Muffles i had on it.. but when you crack the throttle watch out, it cracks like a rifle! In my commute most of my speeds are from 50 to 65 mph. 55 mph in 5th gear sounds great and no loader than the mufflers i had but 65 mph in 6th gear could be annoying on trip. Its a constant crack and is pretty loud. I would image if some one was riding behind me the wouldn't want to for very long. I haven't been on the e-way yet to see what it is like. If i have to be on the e-way i make it a habit to wear earplugs anyway.

I got some feedback from Fuel Moto, they say thr yellowing of the stainless is normal do to the heat cycling and can be cleaned off with simi-chrome or a similar polish. They also said it will take several thousand miles for the packing in the muffler to breaking in and mellow out the sound.
