Your missing the instructions. You can download them at the harley website. I put the upgrade latches and hinges on my tour pack. A very nice upgrade. You do need to drill the holes in the tourpack a little bigger. It's all in the instructions

Same latches and hinges on all models. Mine is an 08. They come in both chrome and black. I went with black.

Hmmm ........ I'm curious to see what they're all about. I have the upgraded hinges and they're definitely a big improvement but I don't see the need for upgraded latches. What are they supposed to do better than the stock ones?

ok got it fixed went back to the dealer today, I told them I needed replacement latches and thats what they sold me I didn't tell them I also needed the spacer that goes under the latche, you can buy each piece seperatly or buy the kit which has everything, latche, spacer, screws and the lugs that go on the lid, when I got the spacers it took me about 5 min to get it back together.

I bought the black latches and hinges. The instructions call for the use of an HD rivet tool, HD 39787a to install the latch plate. Did you use this tool or something similar? I checked on HD's tool and it is around $400. If you did not use the rivets, what did you use instead?
Any advice would be appreciated.

mine took screws they looked to be about 1/8 in by 1 in and had star allen heads when I put the delux hinges on they also came with screws and yes for the hinges you do have to drill the holes bigger and have 4 arms and 6 hands to hold the lid
