Best fuel additive to use?
#11
The bike only has 8,500 miles on it, runs like a champ and uses zero oil.

Just sucks gas.....I had a (dare I say the word) Suzuki before I got this bike and maybe I am just used to how that drank gas but I keep seeing how other people here are getting 35 + and right now I have 120 miles on the trip meter and only have 1/8 tank left....I mean...WTH...lol

if its 10% ethanol it will only affect your fuel mileage by maybe 2% E85 That is 85% ethanol will reduce mileage by 20% I dont know of any additive that will enhance your mileage my guess is the cam and 103 are the culprit on your mileage maybe better off getting a dyno done I dont believe that bike is injected so rejet on the carb may be possible

The bike is injected, no carb.

True but I run gas with 10% ethanol (no other option in PA) and my gas mileage is 38mpg city and 42mpg highway. The cause of your 30mpg is something else, IMO. Running too rich maybe?

Amsoil makes a good fuel additive, called quick shot, for air-cooled engines like our Harleys. It helps with the ethanol issue.

I doubt that is going to improve you gas mileage unless you have some fuel issues going on.
I would suggest check you spark plugs, wires, as well as tune (carb or EFI) to make sure that all OK.
With my 2008 UC with a 103" stage 2 kit I was getting horrible gas mileage even with a good tune (dyno's and with a thundermax auto tune). Somewhere in the 33 mpg range. This had the SE-255 cams in it. I recently switched to Feulings Reaper 574 cams and getting much better gas mileage (close to 40 mpg avg), more torque over a broader range.
Hope that helps.

well I am sure it has a tuner then, you can still get a dyno done and they maybe able to wring some more mileage out of it with AFR adjustments with out killing the performance. I would not think that they could get more than a mile or 2 per gallon unless it is really running that rich

You might try de-bonding the fuel, 100% clean Acetone will debond the molecules to enhance combustion, just don't get any on the bike, in the bike is ok, try about 2 oz per 5 gallons. It will also clean the injectors lines etc... under these conditions there is no damage to the engine IE: rings, valves etc...
