Mechanical machinery, it is what it is. At least you are covered under warranty, maybe you bought an extended warranty?

Whoa a minute-- they said it could be a lifter OR a flywheel? There's a long way between the 2.
A typical symptom like yours indicates a lifter as a more likely cause.
I've never heard a flywheel click....
Anyway reads like your covered which is the main thing.

You are very correct, part that is really pissing me off is they have it for 2 days and the SOB's still haven't said what the problem is. I understand it can take awhile to get it back but answers should come much faster. I always stood behind this dealership, but I am not very happy now. Time will tell if they will get more of my money.

No worries, it will be fine when they're done. These things happen now n then.

Sounds like a lifter from what you're describing, did the mechanic use a scope to listen and see where the noise is coming from? At least you have a warranty, I really wouldn't stress over it if I were you.

+1. I've always looked at cold start up noises as normal. If it keeps up after the warm up I would start being concerned. I don't think I would trust them to start tearing stuff apart and trying to find the problem, when there may not be one. Once they start you just may end up with other problems. Oh well, your bike, your call...

So you may have an issue with your bike that is covered under warranty and now your are "starting to question my support for Harley". This just baffles me. Would it make you feel better if they refused to fix it?
