True, but with an uncooperative dealer you may and have to fight their decision in small claims court.
Ive always found that a good dealer with a relationship to their customer will cover anything that should be covered.
Don't disagree at all, it does happen, but the real point is there is protection and the dealer cannot force who does your work. I have an amazing dealer and an amazing relationship with them. They take care of me well beyond my expectations.
I recorded the talk I had with the Harley rep. He said Harley put it on and would warranty it with the pipes I put on ( I live in Ca,) But the after market warranty would not cover it. If Harley tells you if they build it they will warranty it get it in writing.
