True duals too loud on long rides???
I bought a touring bike to ride long distance. I am about to throw some true duals on it. What does everybody think about the volume at highway speeds? Too loud or just right?
I know there are lots of opinions, but I am just looking for yours! I put a deposit on some MGS True Duals and just want to be sure that I am not screwing my riding experience and radio with the exhaust. Any opinions are welcome. Thanks!

Depends on what you mean by true duals. Does this dual head pipe have what kind of mufflers? Lots of mufflers out there at all kinds of sound levels. The true dual pipe I tried was V&H big shot duals Way to loud for my taste even with the so called quiet baffles and I did not think it sounded that good. If you want dual pipes the best head pipe style is the 2-1-2 in my opinion. Then put on what ever mufflers you want loud, quiet or what not.

Do you have another bike? Those V&H are NOT true duals, they are an X-pipe.... Just sayin. Might be the reason you don't always like the sound.

It is not TDs that make a noise, but the mufflers on them! I've used two brands on my TDs, SE fishtails and S&S ovals. The ovals were a bit quieter. On a bagger if the mufflers stick out the back of the bike the sound, unless very loud, should get left behind while moving.
