Default Hidden antenna and reception

Was thinking about getting the hidden antenna that can be installed in the fairing that will replace the one on back of bike. The parts guy said there will be no interference with FM channels and said only slight reduction in AM quality, which I really don't care about. I ordered it cuz I had the backrest w/ luggage rack installed and they thought it would interfere with antenna. Turns out it won't at all. Anyone have it on their bike? Any probs w/ reception? Thanks.

I have no frequency issues with the hidden antenna. My buddy has a shorty and he is constantly complaining about fading stations with his; he's considering moving to the hidden as well.

I've got the hidden in NYC... reception definitely was reduced, but am happy with the clean looks. I can still hear all my favorites, so that's all that matters to me.

I just had one installed last week when they were installing my gps.... It seems it work alright but while on fm when I hit scan it does stop at every hint of a channel and I can hear what sounds like motor noise coming through but when u get to a strong channel it is clear as a bell, I had the shorty antenna before and it works as good as that did if not better but now I don't have to move it every time I but the tour pak on!

I installed one I got from e-glide goodies and it does what I want it to do. There is some loss of reception, but mainly in the lower powered stations, which I dont listen to anyway.

Believe it or not, your stock whip antenna will fit inside your faring and the reception remains the same....cheap too!

Agreed. I replaced mine and comparatively speaking, the reception just plain sucks. I'm able to get about 50% of the FM stations I did before and all but a few have static.

My hidden antenna also hid all of my reception.
