That is exactly the set-up I am considering. Man, I like the hard bags on the King with and without the rails. Decisions ...

Your saddle bag supports will work with the twin rails, but the crash guards(in front of the bags) will need to be replaced or drilled, the twin rails bolt through the crash guard.

If the bag guards are different, that may be a problem for the OP. I thought the bag rails would connect to the crash guards with hardware that splits and connects with set screws. I had a set of rails for my leather RKC bags. They bolted on the back were the bottom bag support connects to the saddlebag rail support bracket on the back edge of the fender. The front bolted on to the crash guards with hardware that wraps around the tube and locks together with set screws.

Here is a picture of a set of rails for the hard bags (not the leather). If you look closely, there is hardware on the front end of the rails that come apart and connect to your crash guard bars without any drilling. Like mentioned earlier, there are three different kinds of rails. Nostalgic for hard bags, nostalgic for leather bags and the standard two rail for the hard bags which is in the picture.

Here is a link also that shows the install and directions for the rails. It shows the end caps and hex screw for the connection of the rails to the guard bar.

However after looking at the directions closer, you would need to have a hole drilled in the guards for the hex screws. So I stand corrected then. When I installed my nostalgic rails for my leather bags, they installed with no need for any holes for the bolts to go through on the guards.
