next time dont cut anything. take a torch and heat a butter knife (if ol isnt looking) red hot and burn thru it. For those that are challenged put the knife in a vice
Thanks for all of the suggestions. My helmet is one of the Outlaw helmets that are hard to find. So mad at myself at messing it up after only using it for 2 days.
I did the same thing a few years ago. My new helmet fit awesome. I just cut the strap off my old helmet and used safety pins to put it on. I just say that it adds character. Ha ha. It's been working for a few years now and I just can't part with it.

Oh, you'll part with it as soon as it hits something...
Any suggestions on how to repair a helmet strap. I cut the extra strap length off my helmet and meant to take a lighter and burn the end so it didn't unravel. Someone was talking to me when I did it and sat the helmet down after cutting the extra off and forgot to burn the end. Put the helmet in my bag after riding and when I went to grab it out, it snagged and unraveled to the point of no return. Any suggestions on fixing it?
thanks.
Buy a new helmet, it's not fixable. I would not trust a repaired strap in an accident. Any decent helmet will have a snap or magnet to hold the loose strap end from flapping in the wind. If it is a novelty helmet just go strapless, you won't notice a difference if you hit something.
