The RG rides great, it's an excellent touring machine. With the frame mounted fairing, I think the handling is much easier than with fork mounted, especially noticeable with low speed maneuvers. Some folks don't like the long reach to the shark nose fairing, for me it's one of the things I love about it. Wind buffeting is a factor, but can be remedied with a different windshield and lower wind deflectors sold at the HD dealer. I wouldn't trade mine for anything, but to each his (or her) own.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...................
Do a search on this Forum. There are many threads on emergence of the dorsal fin gene. Here is a link to one of mine for example:

I have an 01 Road King and can really carve the twisties. I have ridden the RG on the road and love it, actually lust over it. I want one so bad I can't stand it. I HAVE NOT ridden a glide in the twisties but thinking the RG is THE bike to have. If I could handle the coin it would be sitting next to my FLHR is I write this.

i have ridden the RG and really liked it... a bit of advice though. The proper windscreen in A MUST! IF you ride the bike with the stock finger nail size windscreen chances are you'll be turned off. I am only 5'7" and it was like i was eating a wind sandwhich. But then i rode the CVO Road Glide with the taller H.D. Windsplitter, at a demo day, and it was a totally different experience.
I have seen a few dealers that actually have all of the diferent size windsplitter shields available for demo...they will swap out the shield and let you take it for a spin....probably one of the simplest and smartest ideas i've ever seen the MOCO come up with.
Good luck.
p.s. after you get the Roadie, i'll be jealous
