your right, its bad on weekends, thats why i try o go during the week about 5:30 - 6pm and its very few ppl but the store and resturaunt are still open if you want to stop in

I spent a week, 7-6 thru 7-13. Started at Skyline drive, through the Blue Ridge Parkway to Cherokee and then the Cherahala Skyway to the dragon and back to Cherokee. Great fun. HOT but fun.

I get down there atleast once a year. ride the dragon once then off to the skyway or down toward robbinsville then over the smokey mountain state park. ect

I was there last week....Visiting my son in Fayetteville I had him drop me off in Charlotte to rent a bike and headed to Tennessee by way of Maggie Valley. Rode Thursday and early Friday and had the place to myself. Thursday the 5th I had to literally ride for my life from Fugitive Dam back to Robbinsville to avoid the trees that were being blown across the road, flying debris, and the road littered with branches. They had the road cleared by 6 am the next morning.
Take a look at the 129photo site for Friday the 6th and look at the crash sequence. You will never see a stranger series of pics.
