I saw one a few years ago and the owner thought it was the bees knees. I thought it was pretty funky looking. Unless you change pipes with something like Vance and Hines short shots, ya gotta support them somehow. That is your bag support so gotta take that into consideration. With a lot of coin it could look cool so buy a Switchback if you want a convertible.

The Road King just doesn't look good without bags. The plastic side covers are too big, making the rear look unfinished.
Not the same as the older FLH with bags removed. JMO

No idea what the story behind this one is, but another look at what can be done if you know what you want going in. Found this pic on another forum.

I could be wrong, but I think NC D'Luxe's bike is a Deluxe. Samson cholo's, fat wires with whitewalls, right?

I think the side covers and the rails kill the look. If there were a way to quick detach the rails and change the side covers somehow, I'd be interested. I like the idea of having a totally stripped down touring frame/ride Harley.

There was a company Bruisers that has now closed its doors ... made a kit to be able to drop the bags ... had a side panel replacement part that looked like the old FXR side panel (upside down triangle) ... also had a method of making the saddlebag support bracket look less obtrusive ...

I think that without anything 'dressing it up' ... it looks kind of 'steam punk' ...

I'll try to find a couple of photos of bikes with the Bruiser kit ...

edit:

Only photo I could find of the side panels ...

I snapped this picture while cleaning my bike with the bags off. The black shocks and muffler mounting hardware kind of spoil the scene in my opinion.
