I appreciate all of the thoughtfull and honest replies....

I have been riding these HD vibrators since the mid 70's

there is something wrong with this one, thats for damm sure, i'm a big boy and I can't make it burp the ABS at all...

I use the rear brake for slow speed even more now with a heavier bike than my SG, that I still have...

Yep, my 12 CVO rear brakes took around 500 miles to feel good. Ride it and they will come around. If not get them checked by dealer

Thanks brewdog-it's a nice bike. Been having fun but full lock turns aren't in my bag of tricks yet.

My '12 RGU felt exactly the same when it was new, and I thought that there might be a problem. But after putting some miles on the rear brake gradually began feeling closer to normal. By the 1000K service it was no longer an issue. Give it time.

I had to make a high speed emergency stop after I first got the bike and I noticed the rear brake wont lock to the point of rubber brake. I was glad they were like that or the rear would have locked and down I would have gone. I believe its by design and made not to lock, but to be used in conjunction with the front brakes. I always wondered if this was a design feature and thanks to this thread, now I know.
