Default Slow riding partner??

How to deal with a slow riding partner, my buddy is just a slow driver and it sucks sometimes. I drive slower when i'm with him but it would be nice if he could pick up the pace once in awhile. Seems like he wont go over 60mph reguardless of road conditions. Be nice if could ride like we are together instaed of falling so far back that we look seperated,. I also feel it's safer if he would close the gap some.
ok end of rant.

How to deal with a fast riding partner, my buddy is just a fast driver and it sucks sometimes. I drive faster when i'm with him but it would be nice if he could slow down the pace once in awhile. Seems like he wont go under 60mph reguardless of road conditions. Be nice if could ride like we are together instead of pulling so far ahead that we look seperated. I also feel it's safer if he would close the gap some.
ok end of rant.

And he is your riding partner why? There are few people I can ride with. Fortunately the guy I usually ride with rides pretty much like me and we love carving the twisties.

So when your on a wide open 2-4 lane country road you drive 55, all the while holding back a line of cars? More power to you.. if you cant drive over 60 on a highway maybe you should not own a bike... I'm not talking about flying around all the time but jeeze. If your driving the speed limit, your driving too slow. IMO. Hey but thanks for the reply..

He's not my only riding partner, he would not last 5 miles if he rode with the boys thats for sure. I wont even ask him to ride with that group. Hey Torquey i see your on the eastcoast? We were riding down Rt 7 in Vermont south of rutland, ever rode that road, if so you know 55 is kind of slow for that stretch, i'm talking about atleast staying with the flow of traffic.

My best and oldest bud is BY FAR the slowest rider I have ever known. He's been riding for over 40 years and has always been slow, and I mean SLOW!!! I can bite my tongue for a couple of hours and then it just wells up inside of me. I get irritated and start nagging at him to speed up, and of course he does not.

My solution since try as I might, I couldn't keep my mouth shut, was to quit riding with him. We get along better than ever now.

have one I ride with sometimes , I let him lead so I can keep the gap tighter but it is sooooooo boring , most of the time it is a group ride with 4-6 bikes

That is quite the conundrum. I too, have a slow riding buddy which becomes a little aggravating because I'm constantly up-shifting to keep from lugging. I just tolerate it, or I'll lead and he is forced to keep up.
