Default ??s about pitbull lift / jack

I have the opportunity to pick up a pitbull lift at a good price. Only thing I don't like is that its the pneumatic model. Can the pneumatic models be operated manually also? How do the pneumatics work (does it have to stay hooked up all the time or just until you get the stops in place?)

you can raise and leave it on the stops. You can change it out to the foot pump style, call pit bill jacks and order the parts. I'm glad I have my pit ball jack, and I have the turn table.

I have the pneumatic model as well and it can be used with the foot level or hooked to a compressor. If you don't want to use the pneumatic mode there is a quick disconnect on the jack itself.

Yes, you can use the jack manually, with a hand lever, not a foot lever. (similar to your car's jack). I've never looked into converting the jack over to a foot jack. The bottle jack is also more robust than the straight manual model (12 ton vs 6 ton on the manual model.) If you can get the air jack for a good price, jump on it. I use my jack weekly, and store my bike up on it during the off season. One of the best tools I've bought for my bike.

I have owned both versions at the same time. I prefer the air and it can be lifted manually very easily.

You almost need a 2 car garage to use it. The jack is huge and takes up a bit of space

I have the air lift model too. Great jack and perfect for service, cleaning and storage. It comes with a handle to hand lift, but for God sakes why? Use the compressor and watch it lift skyward. As soon as the safety bars drop, take the air line loose and you can do whatever you want to the bike, or even push the whole thing into the corner or next to the wall. Pitbull Rules for lifts!
