The B motors are smoother at idle, but the A motors are smoother at riding speeds and alot smoother at upper rpms.

My softail would put my hands to sleep when crusing 80 mph for 500 miles a day. The A motor in my FLHX is much, much smoother on long rides.

That's true the a model vibrates more at idle and less while riding. And the b model the opposite.

+1 on what rochkes said. No way would I want a "B" motor in a touring bike. I don't miss it at all after selling my FB. Kinda buzzy at 70+ mph speeds.
