Well... I thought I was all set with getting some Rock-N-Ride 6.5" speaker lids but the back order date has beeen extended. I do volunteer stuff at a local dealer and get really good prices but the above lids are still on back-order thru Tucker Rocky/Bikers Choice. I do have the option of getting the Cycle Sound 6"x9" lids in their place. My issue is that I haven't been actually able to see any of these lids so I have no idea about the differences in quality? I'm thinking I want a more durable lid than the difference between a 6.5"/6"x9" speaker cut-out. Any Rock-N-Ride or Cycle Sounds lid users here who can shed a little bit of info about durability and quality. I'd like to get the order situation straightened out today and get the tunes on the road. Thx for any input ...
Cycle sound here as well, If todo agian I would only get the lids, and grills. Here is a photo of mock up prior to paint and after paint. Quality is good.
I am getting lids only but one of the two speaker choices I'm considering are the Polk DB's. You not happy with the speakers? The other ones are Rockford Fosgate T169's. Although not a marine speaker, they are pretty stoutly built. Did you use your old latches or did you buy new latching hardware? Thx for chiming in..
No problem with Cycle Sound lids...easy to have painted and they fit well. I think you will get better sound with a 6x9 speaker than a 6.5 inch speaker. I went with a Focal 6x9 speaker for my lids.

I have no doubt the 6x9's can put out more sound but the 6.5" lids are actually molded to point a bit up/in toward the rider. I see some sold but can't get ahold of anyone to vouch for the quality? The metal brace for the 6.5" lid uses pre-existing mounting points (forward 2 speaker bolts and 2 side latch bolts to protect the speakers from items in the bags).
