The hertz 6x9's I run in the fairing are far superior to the PA. I bought used hardware and latches off EBay, my bike is a road king classic I swapped the leather bags for sinister extended bags.

I did some volunteer type work at a local Metric/Vic dealer and earned $300 in credit in which I'll use it towards the speaker lids. They carry either Cycle Sounds or Rock-N-Ride. The rep was at the dealer today and said he'd prefer the RNR's as they're angled up/in and they're of a newer design. They have been only out on the market about 4 months now. Not seeing either of them, I said I'd be the local guinee pig for the RNR's. Should be in shortly but the painter is on a two week bike trip. Now I have a bit of time to audition 6.5" speakers. Looking hard at the RF T1675's.

Default Lid Covers?

Just got word that the 6.5" lids could be another 3-4 weeks out Re-thinking the Cycle Sound lids. Just curious if any of the Kuryakyn/Mustang/Saddleman vinyl lid covers might fit over these lids? They do look like a similar shape to stock lids and a bit of protection from heavy rains...

They will fit fine. The Cycle Sound lids and stock lids are the same shape and size.

Thanks for the confirmation on that guys ! Biggzed also sent me this link for magnetic covers.. http://aeroviewmotorsports.com/ I did buy some NIB Rockford Fosgate 6"x9"'s today on a Craigslist ad for $25 ! Not the nicer T1692's but the Punch P1692 model. Mot marine grade but are of the poly/mica design with rubber butyl surrounds. Not taking a big risk for $25 so what the hell.

No issues with quality or fit on my cycle sounds lids. I did use some longer screws on the bag latches.

Can you use the covers while riding or are they just for when washing the bike.

You know, I'm not sure? I would think you could use them on the roll as they're flat.
Biggzed has them so hopefully he'll chime in...
