Long trips on a Street Glide
#31
How far has anyone traveled on a stock street glide in miles? What were some mods you did after the experience to make the ride more comfortable (for driver and passenger) for the next one? Or was it just fine and no mods needed? Planning a long trip this fall with wife. I have the detachable sissy bar and backrest set up for her.
Corbin Classic Solo w/backrest
LRS Hawg Wings
Highway pegs
8" recurve windshield
Harleygoodies floorboard extenders

Love my street glide, would never want an ultra but I do like the ability to set the bike up for comfort.
So far my mods:
Anarchy five spoke wheels
Stage II 103
Klockwerks ergo back bars with HD Nostalgia grips
Modified HD Tallboy seat
Four point docking kit
J&M 7.25 speakers
J&M Amp
Klockwerks 8.5 flare windshield

I set my new bike up originally for one up riding however Mrs DS has expressed a desire for Autumn trips into France to ride pillion rather than go on her Sportster
Anyway I have the solo series signature HD single seat with back rest along with 8.5 KW screen and adjustable lower vents. I have HarleyGoodies extensions to get my legs away from the engine and use Airlite guards on the bars in the wet along with heated grips. I also have an Airhawk seat pad for long range comfort.
Normally I run with a rack where the rear seat would go but also have the single seat tourpak set up.
For the wife I have the rear seat section for the above HD seat and use it with a rear tourpak mount
I came down from a Ultra Ltd due to wifey getting her own bike and cost aside feel I have better set ups available now for any given situation. Of course all of this could have been done a lot cheaper by detaching the tourpak from the Ltd but hey you only live once
