My HD Guru ( a shout out to Stewy's Customs in Wakefield MA) has told me on more than one occasion that HD is cheapening the bikes out. The air baffle on the forks.. gone... handrail..gone.. plastic instead of fiberglass on the bags, TP, fairing, etc... Have you ever tried to repair plastic? Fiberglass can be easily fixed, plastic can not.
The reason the MoCo does it is because they know a good percentage of us will spend the money to buy what used to be standard equipment off the mutli fit wall, while they raise the MSRP.

Don't forget about HD switching from two main bearings to one on the drive side in '03, replacing the pillow-look seat with the "comfort stich" seat, and also grease fittings for the gear shift and rear brake - gone, air adjustable front forks - gone.
What other "improvements" have we missed?
I figure the radio will be an option on the '08 Ultras......
I really love the Street Glides ---take off expensive parts, and jack up the price
