Five cents worth of duct tape around the rear seat bolt during removal & installation will save you the grief of a screwdriver scratch
on your rear fender. I bought the thumb screw, which works well &
ya can't cause a scratch with your fingers...

ORIGINAL: docsouce
I looked up thehandrail in my catalog. It says it can't be used on bikes with leather bags. (like my '05 RK Classic). Is that because of the removable backrest/tourpack mounts? I'd put a set of these on my bike in a heart beat.

Somewhere along the way, someone identified an aftermarket kit that raised the trip trunk. I can't find it in the replies anymore. I though it was a George's kit, but could not find it on their website.
Would someone repost the info on the kit to raise the trip trunk? Please include the website if possible.
Thanks!!

Alright guys. i was finally able to get a grab rail off of ebay, they must have sold a dozen of the suckers over the last month. i installed the handy device on my 2006 and found that i had about 1/16 of an inch clearance between the speaker box and the rail. Know what!! you can move the speaker box up and, with the standard holes for the speaker boxes, geta little over a 1/4" clearance. However, the holes are not in synch! YOu can move the boxes up, by trimming out the holes, so that the speaker box is level with the top of the main box. In this configuration you have a lot of room! Guess HD just wanted to justify not putting the grab rail on the UCs!

My HD Guru ( a shout out to Stewy's Customs in Wakefield MA) has told me on more than one occasion that HD is cheapening the bikes out. The air baffle on the forks.. gone... handrail..gone.. plastic instead of fiberglass on the bags, TP, fairing, etc... Have you ever tried to repair plastic? Fiberglass can be easily fixed, plastic can not.
The reason the MoCo does it is because they know a good percentage of us will spend the money to buy what used to be standard equipment off the mutli fit wall, while they raise the MSRP.

I have an '07 Ultra and I also was wanting to put the hand rails on. I know I can pick up some at the swap meet for about 1/3 the cost from MoCo. Is there any thing special that you have to look for in putting them on? Did you have to drill holes in the fender? I had them on my '04 Ultra, but never noticed how they were attached. You input will be appreciated.
Thanks

I am looking at purchasing a 2007 FLHTCU. I MUST have the "passenger handrail". What does the bike look with the Tour-Pack mounted in the rear position? How does it come from the factory?
Is the Part Number: PN 91583-99 still the part number being used by everyone? What is the EBay search that you a performing to get the correct result.
Thanks,
Frank
