We have mounted the Grab Rail on an 07 Ultra with an adjustable Rider Backrest... it all works.

ORIGINAL: Woodchuck

I wonder why they made the grab rails and the tour pak light rails acce$$ories instead of standard equipment like they used to be?[sm=ts.gif]
Woodchuck --- What did the little bird say? Cheap, Cheap, Cheap!

Got to increase profits andkeep the share holders happy!

Same reason they dropped the duel bearings on the motor drive-side in '03, same reason they went to that cheap "comfort stitch" seat, same reason they no longer install grease fittings for the transmission linkage and rear brake, same reason the SE Air Filter is no longer made by K&N (wouldn't want to use ANY part that will last forever), etc., etc., etc.

They know that most people that buy their product will leave it parked in the garage until they get the hots for a new toy. Why continue to build bikes that will last for a lifetime?

Did you notice any reduction in the price of a 5K or 10K service for the '07's now that fluid change intervals have been extended and there is no need to check/adjust the primary chain with the auto chain tensioners?

You are right. [sm=ts.gif]

I have an 07 UC that I put the handrail on. Don`t haul passengers but it is very useful. Fits like it was made for it.

I installed the grab rail on my 06 ultra. The tour pack is in what ever position it comes from the dealer in. I don't know if it is forward or back. The wife loves the grab bar, she really needs to hang on sometimes the way I drive.

The guys at the dealership tried to tell me it would not work, but it does.

You need the new grab strap to tuck all your spare money for SERT's and Baker 5th gear kits. Happy smooth torqing and drivability.

Just a word to the wise...each time you have to remove the seat and the grab strap is there, make sureyou adj. the bracketclearencebetween the saddle bag and the side cover. it'll scuff the hell out of both if there's not enough. Tighten securely too.

I looked up thehandrail in my catalog. It says it can't be used on bikes with leather bags. (like my '05 RK Classic). Is that because of the removable backrest/tourpack mounts? I'd put a set of these on my bike in a heart beat.

I asked about that at dealer and they just looked at me like I had just sprouted a tail and horns. That's why I have manual, DVD, and will do own maintenance.
