The brand of lights you are using would be helpful information.
Also if I'm not mistaken, depending on the brand of lights, you will need a resistor/load equalizer on both the front AND rear turn signal circuits. But that is only to fix the problem of the fast blinking. Also what kind of R/T/B module are you using? I would suspect a wiring problem in that unit if your dash lights are staying on. I just installed a Kuryakyn R/T/B on a VTX and the instructions were clear to state that the two ground wires need to be grounded to the chassis and not the negative side of the battery. Also the power to the unit is pulled from the running light circuit. You must not cut that wire, only tap into it.
Double check all the wiring and get a good meter to verify which wires do what. Test lights should not be used. There is no protection in the test light to prevent current from flowing into somewhere where it should be going. It's a real easy way to fry electronic circuits. Good meters will prevent this and will tell you exactly what is happening with the wire you are testing. Solder all connections and ensure that if you need a chassis ground that strip the paint down to bare metal or you'll never get a good ground.
