I'm thinking about a cam change in my 2012 Street Glide. I want to go with Screamin' Eagle and a dealership install for warranty purposes.
I'm looking for bottom end torque and want some lope. Should I go with the SE 204 or SE 255 cams? I have V&H Power Duals, Rineharts, PCV, & K&N hi flow AC now.
What have some of you paid the dealership for parts and labor on this job?

I have a 2008 Ultra Classic which I had a 103ci upgrade put in(when i purchased it) with the SE 255 cams. I ran with the SE-255's for close to 30,000 miles so I have so experience with them. While the SE-255's have good low end torque, they run out of steam very fast. I recently installed the Feuling 574 cams and much happier with them. Good low end and the torque band lasts all the way to top end. With the SE-255's I couldn't run 2500 rpms as it was lugging in 6th gear. With the Feuling's no problem with plenty of get up and go. The SE-255's would run out steam around 4000rpm's, not with the 574's.
I am getting much better fuel mileage with the Feulings as well. I was getting 33-35 mpg with the SE-255's and getting close to 40mpg with the Fuelings.
I have also noticed the engine runs 20-30deg F cooler (based on oil temp gauge on fairing) with the Feuling cams vs the SE-255's. Even when ambient air temp is 95deg F the oil temp is around 200-210degF (with an oil cooler which I had with the SE-255's too). It would be 230ish with the SE-255's.
Just something to consider.
If you really want SE-255's I have a set I would sell you for a very good price.

If you want the "LOPE" effect, go with the SE204's, lift is smaller than the SE255's, but lift is not where you get the lope from, the SE204's have more duration and the valve opening/closing timing is longer, that is where you get the "LOPE" from, I run the SE204's in my 103, it pulls hard from idle to 6k, it also hits a harder lick than my friends 120R, plus I average 42-45mpg!

Have you had a chance to check them out cruising in 6th gear? MR396 says he had a problem with them running out of steam pretty early with his '08 but the gearing in my '08 Street Glide was a good bit higher than the gearing that my '12 has. That change in gearing would probably make a good bit of difference at cruising speeds in 6th.

But low speeds in 2nd 3rd gear........ Much more torque than stock!
