I found a deal on a set of chrome slotted brake rotors?? Whats the difference between chrome or ss.?? One better than the other??

ss ,,, Single Side ? chromes rotors will ruin your brake pads . but eventually will fade after a while .. polish is the way to go it will not harm the pads .

The ones I am looking at are on craigslist...nib dual...arlen ness...claims he paid close to $600...says he'll take $190. Deal or no deal???

Maybe I've got bad luck, but every set of stock one-piece HD rotors I've had have warped within a few months. I got the HD 'floating' rotors (about $340/pair on eBay) and haven't had any issues. I recommend the 'floaters'.

That explains a lot. I just bought a Street Glide that appears to have some badly warped front rotors at 11k miles. Thought about grabbing some take-offs but not if it's an issue. I have 28k on my Dyna Bastard Glide with no issues, must be a bagger thing.
