I want to know if anyone has ever done this before. it appears that inside of my headlight and my passing lights that it has a kind of foggy look, I'm wondering if I could clean the inside of lense. Has anyone done this?

 

I've got the same issue; hopefully some has an easy solution to post.

 

Yes, I have cleaned inside both the headlight and running lights.

Take lamps off, remove bulb (remember not to touch the bulbs with bare hands).

I use IPA (isopropyl alcohol / rubbing alcohol) as the cleaning agent.

Small piece of paper towel, lightly soak with IPA, use forceps to hold the soaked paper towel, work it around on the inside of the lense until clean, let it dry, install, clean and good to go.

Makes a difference and clearly removes the haze.

 

I have seen discussions about this. I need to do this myself. The simplest thing to try was removing the light and putting a small amount of rubbing alcohol in there. Then swish it around to clean the lens. Pour out and repeat till its clean. I hear there is no residue? And the light will be clean. The rubbing alcohol will evaporate leaving the inside of the dry as an be.

Seems simple...... I hope it works.......

 

Did the alcohol thing before and it works

 

Dish soap works pretty good also. Couple of drops in the light rinse well. wipe dry

 

Take them off, remove bulb, rinse wit clean water, blow out with air compressor, insert bulb, reinstall.

Presto, no more fogged lamp lenses.

don't touch the reflective part of the inside of lamp housing with anything (solid i.e. paper towel rag etc) as it is very easy to scratch...

 

My headlight and passing lamps were the same way. I did the alcohol in the headlight and it works. I never got around to doing the passing lamps. I replaced all three with the phase 7's

 

Don't use 409. It will eat away the chrome.
