21" front wheel.....any problems with stock fender?
Bought new wheels for my 2012 Street Glide and getting then mounted soon. Just want to make sure no problems will occur. I have heard that they bolt on with no problems and others have said they get rub. Also was told the bolt holes made need to be "egged" or "ovaled" to allow for the fender to move a hair forward.
Putting a 200 on the rear. With my luck that will encounter a snafu also.

If you can afford it... change that front fender for the sole purpose of looks! A 200 on the rear will not cause any issues if you went with a 17X6.25 rim size... if you went with a 18" rim, you may have some issues from all the reviews I have read over the years. I'm running a 17X200 with Arnott Air Ride and even with the air all the way down I have not rubbed... I have not rode it out of the garage, or a parking space all the way down either but...

Best bud has a PM 21" wheel on his '07 SG with no problems. However, he claims that the preferred tire is the Metzler, as it will not elongate (stretch out) at higher speeds which could start to rub on the underside of the fender. Metz's are supposed to be the best for this...so say PM who sold him the setup.

I run it with the stock front fenders and don't have any trouble
I think most of the issues from others is based on tire selection not the 21 inch rim
from what I read some tires were a slight bit taller and would rub at hwy speeds when the tire tends to get just a bit stretched out from centrifugal force
I have Metz 880's on my rims and they have no trouble
you may want to check with others that did have problems what they were running for tires, but the bike itself in stock for can handle the 21 without modfiying it

This is the correct viewpoint. Most of our customers are very surprised to hear that the 21" size front wheel will fit on the the stock Street Glide. The highest you can go without any major modifications is a 21 front.
In some cases (very minimal) we have heard of customers having to remove the fender and drill the fender mounting holes a drill size larger and put the fender back on. This allows the fender to be pulled up a little bit in the back of it to make sure it does not rub the tire. This is not needed all of the time but you should deffinitely check the clearances of your stock fender once you install the wheel and tire on the bike.
We have tech articles on this if you are interested.
If you guys at all have any other questions feel free to shoot me a PM, more than happy to help out!
