Default Hard Bags on a RK custom

Hey guys, Im new to the site and picked up my first Harley about 2 months ago so bear with me and some of my dumb questions.
I have an 05 Road King custom. Ive been thinking I would really like to change the hard leather bags to the standard Road King hard bags. Does anyone know if I would have a problem attaching those bags to a custom? Im pretty sure the frames are the same and I would just need different brackets. Has anyone done this?

This was just covered in another thread, only going the other direction, hard to leather.

Yes they will fit.

blukrom,

I never found the other post so I will respond... [sm=itsok.gif]

I have a 2005 RK and did the oposite...I took the hard bags off and put the leather covered plastic bags on. One reason I did this is because on my former bike...a '99 RK Classic I had the Sundowner seat which I loved. However when I put that Sundowner RKC seat on it rubbed the hard bags and left a blemish...which I didnt like. Plus I was to paranoid of scratching the bags.

The soft bags fit fine...I had to adjust the quick connect brackets to line up with the soft bags. See attached. I know for a fact that the hard bags will fit a RKC because a good friend of mine found a set on eBAY and runs them on his RKC. I hope that helps.
