Thank you gents, alot of logical wisdom expressed.
I had never ridden a 103, so they had an O-12 Ultra with 6 K miles on it for me to demo.
I was pleasantly surprised. I had gotten a loaner 09 Ultra in 09, and loved the comfy ride, but the machine was a total sled. I was not impressed back then, so shyed away from the "newer enhanced" rides.....
The service department checked my 07 out and said they could hear the inner primmary bearing was noisy, and would need $450 - $850 worth of work before they could sell it. I knew it needed a front tire for I just ordered one from a local indy.
I DO NOT TRUST SALESMAN, but, I dealt with an older gentleman whom I (unknowingly) share common friends with, and the impulsive kid in me won out.
We worked on #s for a bit (to boot $$$$) and all things considered, I said get the new one ready.
I did manage to keep alot of personal candy I put on the 07 that would have cost another $6 -700 to replace on the new one.
What ta hell, I get to break it in my way, maintain it my way, and any problems the 1st 2 years are the MoCo's problems..........
Thanks again for the on track-wise advice,
Bob
