Default Decals and wheels

Two questions:

How hard is it to remove the tank decals from a '97 RK so that I could put on one of the vintage tank badges?

What are the HD part numbers for the spoke wheels for that year?

its not that hard if you are comfortable with stripping the clear coat off first.

Thank you for the part numbers on the wheels. That is exactly what I was looking for. I take it the pinstripe on the hard bags is also a decal that can be removed once the clear coat is off?

No, its not a decal, the pinstripe is just that. Pinstriped on with paint. And while it's mentioned above that it's no big deal to remove the decal, I've been there, and done that. It's a royal pain. I ended up having to sand it off too, and went clear down to the metal to make it right. Be careful before you jump into that little project, and know what you're getting into. Unless you're a professional painter, or darn good at it, you can really screw things up. You might be better off buying a used tank, stripping it off, painting it the color you want, and then installing your badges. That way if you go to sell, you've got the original tank to throw back on. FWIW, just one more opinion. Good luck

in case you misunderstood, i was being facetious about it not being too hard. my point was that it was under the clear coat. like bigsky said, its gonna require a lot of work, sanding and repainting.....

sorry, i forgot the little sarcastic smilie on my other post

removing the badges is easy
removing a decal under the clear coat is repainting the tank

Scratch, I knew you were kidding him, I just wanted to make sure HE knew it. That job is a royal pain. I got your point about removing the clear coat. Wasn't sure he did, with his following comment about decal for pinstripping. It's all good.
